What is Wexplo Sites?

Wexplo Sites is a self-service platform for building multilingual audio guides for museums, parks, wineries, historic sites, and galleries. Visitors scan a QR code or tap an NFC tag and listen in their own browser, with no app to install and no headset to rent. You write each stop once in the creator dashboard, and Wexplo auto-translates and narrates it in 14 languages, with a synced transcript and photo alt text on every stop for accessibility. Plans start free (1 site, 5 stops); paid tiers run $49, $149, and $399 per month, and a site can go live in a day. On the Growth plan and above you can also sell premium access to visitors and keep 100% of what you charge.

Frequently asked questions

What is Wexplo Sites?

Wexplo Sites is a self-service SaaS platform for museums, parks, wineries, historical sites, galleries, and universities to create multilingual audio site guides delivered through QR codes and NFC tags, no app install required for visitors.

How does Wexplo Sites compare to STQRY, Bloomberg Connects, and rented hardware?

Against STQRY: Wexplo Sites starts at $49/mo vs STQRY Standard at $199/mo, with 14 languages included by default instead of 2-4, and synchronized transcripts and photo alt-text shipped on every stop for EAA/ADA compliance. Against Bloomberg Connects: Bloomberg Connects is free but only accepts curated museums, so most small and mid-sized venues are not eligible; Wexplo Sites is open to any venue and keeps your own branding. Against rented handheld hardware (Acoustiguide, Antenna International): QR-based delivery removes per-visitor rental fees, sanitization staff time, and device loss; the visitor uses their own phone.

Which languages are supported?

English, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Dutch, Japanese, Korean, Chinese, Russian, Hebrew, Ukrainian, and Arabic. You write your narration in one language and Wexplo auto-translates and generates native-accent audio for all 14.

Do visitors need to install an app?

No. Visitors scan a QR code with their built-in camera, and the audio guide opens in their browser. It works on any iPhone or Android with no app install required.

How much does Wexplo Sites cost?

Free plan: 1 site with 5 stops, Wexplo branding, $0/month forever. Starter: $49/month for 1 site with 25 stops. Growth: $149/month for 5 sites and up to 150 stops total, with Wexplo branding removed. Business: $399/month for 20 sites with up to 500 stops total, full white-label, and 1 custom voice clone. Enterprise is custom-priced based on site count, integrations, SSO / SOC2, and the annual contract. Talk to sales.

Can I charge visitors for my audio guide?

Yes, on the Growth plan and above, using Paid Access. Mark any stop as premium and sell access codes at your ticket desk. Visitors enter a code to unlock the premium content, and you keep 100% of what you charge, Wexplo takes no commission. It is a flat $99/month per monetized site, with no card processing or chargebacks on your side because you sell the codes however you already sell tickets. Free and Starter plans cannot charge visitors.

Can I use Wexplo Sites for an outdoor park or trail?

Yes. Outdoor sites can enable per-stop GPS triggering so audio plays automatically as visitors walk past each stop. Indoor sites use a numbered list visitors tap to browse.

Do I need technical skills to create a site guide?

No. The creator portal is a simple web form: name your site, add numbered stops with a title and narration text, upload photos, and click "Generate Audio". QR codes are auto-generated and printable.

What file formats and hardware do I need for QR codes and NFC tags?

Download PNG QR codes at any print size. For NFC, use any off-the-shelf NFC writer app and set the tag URL to the same URL shown under each QR code in your dashboard.
