A self-guided campus tour, every day of the year.
Scale orientation week, visitor weekends, and alumni events without scaling your student-ambassador roster. Visitors scan a QR by each building, listen in any of 14 languages, and walk the campus at their own pace.

Why universities pick Wexplo
The pains we actually solve.
Visitor weekends overflow your ambassador team
Orientation, accepted-students day, alumni weekend, and rolling visitor traffic do not happen on the same schedule as your student-tour roster. Most weeks you have 30 prospective families and 8 ambassadors. A self-guided audio tour covers the gap without a hire.
International students arrive expecting their language
A campus that recruits in China, Brazil, India, and Germany cannot run every tour in English and expect the same yield. Wexplo ships native-accent narration in 14 languages from day one, so the campus you market is the campus international families actually experience.
Faculty stories belong at the stops
The best campus tour line is a faculty member describing their research at the building where it happens. Wexplo lets you upload short faculty intros as inline audio assets so the AI narration plays first, then the professor speaks in their own voice. No studio booking, no editing pass.
Brochures and PDFs are not the visitor experience
The visitor center hands out a printed map; the family loses it by the second building. A QR sticker by each stop solves that with one piece of furniture you already own: their phone.
What we ship
A complete audio guide layer, out of the box.
Build a numbered campus map in the dashboard, write each stop like a short admissions-tour script, click Generate. The platform handles translation into 13 more languages, native-accent narration, QR codes, and a branded visitor page.
AI narration in 14 languages
Write your tour in English. One click translates and narrates the same content in Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Dutch, Japanese, Korean, Chinese, Russian, Hebrew, Ukrainian, and Arabic. Update one stop and the other 13 stay in sync.
Faculty voice intros, inline
Upload a 30 to 60 second MP3 from a professor, dean, or alum. Drop a marker into the narration and the visitor hears the AI introduce the stop, then your contributor speaks. Same workflow for athletics, library, and student-life voices.
Branded QR PDFs, ready to laminate
Download an A4 sheet with one QR per stop, your colors, your wordmark, and a poster frame designed to survive an outdoor stake or an indoor wall mount. No print shop coordination, no separate QR generator.
Photo carousels for every stop
Upload existing photography for each building, lab, or quad. The platform generates accessible alt text in every language, so the same visual experience reaches screen-reader users and international families. Useful for virtual visitors too.
Per-stop analytics by language
See which stops international families finish, which languages your applicants choose, and which buildings get re-scanned. Surface the data alongside your CRM intake so admissions sees the tour as a measurable channel.
Multi-campus, one dashboard
Run separate sites for the main campus, the satellite campus, the new innovation district. Each gets its own QR codes and its own analytics, all under one admin login. The Growth tier covers three campuses out of the box.
Why now
What rented hardware and curated apps cannot do.
Each of these is a category-level fact about how Wexplo is built. No vendor names; see the competitor comparison pages for the head-to-head.
- Visitors use their own phone. No headset rental, no sanitation cycle between tours, no device loss to track at the visitor desk.
- No app install. The QR opens the tour page in the visitor browser, on iPhone, Android, or any device they own.
- 14 languages on every stop by default, not a per-language fee or a 12 month roadmap promise.
- Updates ship instantly. Edit a building stop after a renovation and visitors see the new content on the next scan; no reprinting, no re-recording session.
- Free tier covers a pilot building. Test it on your visitor center before any procurement conversation.
Pricing
Growth, $149 a month, is the fit.
Growth covers 3 campuses and 150 stops across them, which is enough for a main campus, a satellite, and a graduate school in one subscription. Wexplo branding removed. Most universities start on the free tier with a single pilot building, then move to Growth once the visitor center signs off.
Free tier: 1 site, 5 stops, all 14 languages. Starter $49/mo, Growth $149/mo, Business $399/mo, Enterprise custom. See full pricing.
Frequently asked questions
Can faculty record their own intros for stops?
Yes. Upload a short MP3 (30 to 60 seconds works best) from any phone or laptop recorder. In the stop narration, drop a marker where you want the contributor voice to play. The visitor hears the AI introduce the stop, then the faculty intro, then the AI continues. The MP3 stays in the language you recorded it; the AI narration around it is in the visitor selected language.
How long does setup take for a 30-stop campus tour?
A first draft in English takes 2 to 3 hours of focused writing. Translation into the other 13 languages and audio generation runs about 90 seconds per language per stop, in parallel, so a full 30-stop campus is live the same afternoon you start. The free tier lets you run the whole flow before paying anything.
Does it work for outdoor campuses with weak phone signal?
Each stop opens with the QR scan; once the audio starts, playback continues even if the visitor walks into a low-signal area. The platform caches the audio aggressively in the browser. Stops are also numbered, so visitors who lose signal can find their way back via the campus map.
Can we white-label the visitor page with our colors and logo?
Growth ($149/mo) removes Wexplo branding from the visitor page. Business ($399/mo) ships full white-label with custom domain support, so the tour lives at tour.youruniversity.edu and visitors never see a third-party logo.
What does accessibility look like for the campus tour?
Every visitor page ships with screen-reader support, full transcripts of every stop, captions in all 14 languages, photo alt text generated for each language, and audio playback controls (0.25x to 2x speed, skip 15s) that work with assistive switches and voice control. Universities with formal accessibility offices typically clear our pages against WCAG 2.1 AA; see /eaa-compliance for the full checklist.
