What is Wexplo?
Wexplo is an AI-powered exploration companion. As you move through the world, Wexplo automatically generates audio stories about the places around you — whether you're walking, cycling, driving, or taking public transit.
How does location-based story triggering work?
When you enable exploration mode, Wexplo uses your device's GPS to detect nearby points of interest. When you enter the trigger radius of a location, an AI-generated story is created and played as audio. The trigger distance adjusts automatically based on your travel speed.
Do I need an internet connection?
Yes, an internet connection is required to generate new stories and content. However, you can download areas for offline use in Profile → Settings → Offline Mode. Downloaded stories and audio will be available without a connection.
What languages are supported?
Wexplo supports stories in 12 languages: English, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Japanese, Korean, Chinese, Russian, Arabic, Turkish, and Hindi. You can change your language in Profile → Preferences → Language.
Are the stories accurate?
Stories are generated by AI and are designed for entertainment and general education. While we strive for accuracy, AI-generated content may contain inaccuracies or creative embellishments. Do not rely on Wexplo as your sole source of factual information.
How do personal tours work?
You can create custom tours by selecting points of interest along a route. Wexplo's AI will generate narration for each stop. You can edit, reorder, and regenerate content for any stop. Personal tours can be kept private or shared with friends.
Is Wexplo safe to use while driving?
Wexplo offers a hands-free audio mode for driving. Always mount your phone securely and keep your attention on the road. Do not interact with the app screen while driving. Stories will play automatically when you pass points of interest.
Managing Your Account
How do I delete my account?
To permanently delete your account and all associated data:
- Open the Wexplo app
- Go to Profile → Account
- Tap "Delete Account"
- Confirm deletion
Your data will be removed within 30 days. You can also request deletion by emailing privacy@wexplo.ai.
How do I change my email or password?
Go to Profile → Edit Profile to update your display name and avatar. To change your email or reset your password, use the "Forgot Password" option on the sign-in screen.
Privacy & Analytics
How do I opt out of analytics?
Go to Profile → Settings and toggle the Analytics switch off. When opted out, no usage data will be collected. This does not affect the core functionality of the app.
How do I manage location permissions?
You can change location permissions at any time in your device's Settings app under Wexplo. You can choose "While Using," "Always," or "Never." Wexplo works best with "While Using" permission. Without location access, story triggering and nearby features will be unavailable.

Safety Features
What safety features does Wexplo have?
- Safety zones — the app can alert you when you're near areas flagged for caution (construction, traffic, etc.)
- Emergency SOS — accessible from Profile → Safety & Emergency, with a countdown timer and one-tap call to emergency services
- Trusted contacts — add emergency contacts who can be quickly notified
- Alert sensitivity — adjust how often safety notifications appear in Safety settings
